The 21 January 1959 issue of
Afterburner was noticeable weak in graphics and artwork, with only one cartoon and a couple of banners for recurring articles. Still interesting though.

| Another banner. This one was for a regular sports section article about US Air Force sports in Japan. It's worth noting that in 1959 sports -- both playing and watching -- were a huge recreational activity. As for the person, A2/C John E. Boyle, as we'll see in some upcoming blog entries was the creative force behind the Yokota newspaper at the beginning of 1959. I wonder what happened to him? |
